About

A presence rooted
in stillness and truth

Brenda Brewer is a New York City-based actor, electronic singer-songwriter, and poet whose work is shaped by Transcendental Meditation, sixteen years of Field Practice study, and a lifelong pursuit of psychological depth.

Trained at the Barrow Group and in Meisner technique at MCS Theatre, she brings a rare quality of presence to every role — one earned not from performance but from a deeply cultivated inner life.

Her music operates in the space where electronics become atmospheric and words carry weight. Her poetry and illustration practice runs quietly alongside, surfacing wherever truth demands a different form.

Music

Electronic lounge
& downtempo

Her music exists in the hush between electronic and acoustic — spare, textured, and precise. Brenda writes from the inside out: consciousness, intimacy, and moral weight refracted through downtempo arrangements.

A collaborator by nature, her catalogue spans work with Aandra, Evolve, Monodeluxe, and others — all as Soul Sista Shakti.

Words that live
at the edge of knowing

Koan
When Will You Drink?
The nectar knows nothing of the bee,
yet the honeycomb is full.
The acacia offers shade to the lion,
but the lion has no name for the tree.
You claim the oxygen,
but the forest does not send a bill.
If you are thirsty,
look to the wildflower
and watch her open to the rain.
Then tell me—
When will you drink?

Koan
The Archer's Orders
Neither the storms nor man nor woman
hold sway over the orders of the gods.

The gods are the maestros
and declare when the winter freeze ends,
and not one moment before.

Stand where the shadow meets the moss,
feeling the heartbeat of the wood.

Then listen for the daimon.
And not one moment before:
Pull back your arrow.
Release now.

Did the arrow find the mark,
or did the mark find you?
